We hope you all are having a great week but make sure not to eat too much candy! Halloween is always a fun time of year for my nieces and nephews at our family’s dude ranch. They get dressed up in their costumes and usually collect way too much candy!
One thing we like to do as a family at our Colorado guest ranch around Halloween is pumpkin carving. All my nieces and nephews: Wyatt, Carson, Harlie, Paisley, Danielle and Levi get a pumpkin to carve. Wyatt always gets the biggest pumpkin and they get smaller as they go down the line. The designs are always fun and as unique as each child’s personality. For example, Wyatt’s pumpkin is silly with a huge mouth and two faces and Carson’s pumpkin is perfectly designed and carved. The kids always have a blast carving their pumpkins and being creative, and I have a lot of fun as an uncle helping them out. I also get the privilege of scooping all the goop out of the inside!
It is so hard to believe October has already come and gone! It seems like just the other day we were line dancing, listening to the cowboys tunes of Will Dudley, taking all-day rides to Box Canyon, whitewater rafting on the mighty Arkansas River and sharing our little slice of heaven with people from around the world! Now, Thanksgiving is just around the corner!
We hope you all have a great Halloween and are able to spend some time with family, eat some candy and dress up in a sweet costume! How many of you all are going to costume parties? We would love to hear about how unique, crazy, stylin’, or funny your costume was!
Wishin’ you blue skies and happy trails!
