Message: Our Review: I’ve been to many beautiful places around the world but I’ve never loved a place I’ve been to as much as Tarryall River Ranch.  When we chose a dude ranch vacation we reviewed every dude ranch website we could find. In the end we chose Tarryall because they had the best rates of all the ranches we were considering.  I was excited to go but didn’t know if it would be as pretty as some of the other places I’d been thinking about. To my pleasure, when we arrived at the ranch, I realized it is in one of the most stunning landscapes I’ve ever seen. Beautiful granite rocks, endless mountain trails without a person in sight, green grass fields with a lazy winding river. As picturesque as a postcard.

The week we had there was the most fun vacation my chilren or I have ever had(that includes Disney!). My chilren, ages 10 and 7, at home are all too often hooked to the t.v., game system or computer. At TRR they didn’t even think about them or their lack there of. It was so great to see them running, and playing, and being active in such a wholesome enviroment.

Each of the horses selected for us was a perfect match! I, being an experienced rider, was in love with my horse, Socks, who was fun and responsive, while my children, who have little riding experience, were both placed on super safe older horses that made me feel comfortable enough to let them ride alone with their counselor. I felt safe and confident with each and every wrangler I went out with. My kids loved Emily, the kids counselor, and the special activities they did with her. And the overnight trail ride was the highlight of our trip.

The staff was wonderful. The Tesch family is warm and welcoming and their beautiful children are a pleasure to have around. The food was fantastic; all homemade and fresh. Bridget, the chef, spends all day preparing your 3 meals and each one is a delight. I plan on asking for a TRR cookbook for a Christmas present! The rooms were clean and nice not that any of us spent anytime in them at all! We were so busy with activities all we did in our cabins was sleep and shower.

Our week at Taryall River Ranch was the most fun week I’ve ever spent in my life. TRR has imprinted itself on my heart and I plan to go back every summer. I cannot give it any higher of a recommendation!!
