The 4th of July is a very special and important day at our Colorado guest ranch!  We do the celebration of our country’s independence right at our guest ranch with a fun-filled afternoon of family-friendly games.  Plus, some good old-fashioned competition in remembrance of all the sacrifices made so that we may enjoy freedom and the opportunity to pursue our dreams.  If it wasn’t for the freedoms we enjoy in this country, our Colorado guest ranch may not even be here and we wouldn’t have the opportunity to live the lifestyle we love; sharing the Old West with people from around the world!  This is why the 4th of July celebration is such an important day at Tarryall (not to mention it’s a whole lot of fun!!).

The festivities at our guest ranch start with a hamburger fry at the pool.  The housekeepers decorate the pool area in all kinds of red, white and blue streamers and decorations to get everyone in the spirit of celebration.  Our guests and staff are split into two teams – blue and red.  The teams are made a few days ahead of time so everyone gets the chance to talk up how their team is going to dominate and everyone shows up to the pool decked out in their team’s color.  From bandanas to face paint and t-shirts to socks in the respective team color, there is certainly no shortage of team spirit!  Then, after lunch the games begin!

4th of July "Car Push"

At our Colorado guest ranch we do a variety of different family-friendly games.  Typically, we have an age range from toddler to grandpa and grandma participating in these events and they are always a blast!  Click here to check out this short video of some of the activities from this year’s 4th of July celebration!

I would like to say a huge thank you to all the military that work relentlessly every day to ensure the freedoms we enjoy.  We can’t thank you enough!  God bless you always!

Happy Trails,

Kody Tesch
